Return to Humanity

After Fall 2010 semester I need to remember how to be a human. Hundreds of hours of coding may have furthered my career path but it has left me more adept in communicating with computers than people. Not to say I was ever particularly good at being "normal" (if there really is such a thing), but now the coding stress dreams are just memories and I can return to this thing commonly referred to as life.

I used to write all the time as a form of expression or as a creative act. Somehow career and academia managed to squelch my desire to do so. As cheesy as it sounds I hope this semester lets me get back in touch with a part of myself lost to the status quo. This entry will serve as the jumping-off point; from here I have no idea where these entries will take me. Wherever they may lead, I can rest assured knowing it will be unequivocally more interesting than the previous months have been.

With all that in mind, I remain a tech guy with no hope of recovery. It is inevitable that I nerd-out at some point and make an entry that no one will understand (or care to). Maybe a comparison would help explain the extent of my tech obsession:
Many people would drool over a Ferrari (and I would too). To me cutting edge electronics hold similar appeal to that Ferrari.
I suppose that serves as a warning regarding any potential tech drivel to come.
